Day 19 (2 May) - Alice Springs

Sublime Serpentine Gorge
Kate: Back on the "hard top" again - phew!!!  Bit worried about all the bits that have fallen off the van and the warning lights flashing on the car - but help is near at Alice Springs!  From one beautiful gorge to another - we headed to the famous Ormiston Gorge which lived up to its reputation.  Beautiful sandy beach, deep waterhole and gorgeous sheer orange cliffs looming from the base.  Has turned cold so no swimming today.  Onto Serpintine Gorge - even more beautiful as it is a no swimming, no camping place so protected and so pristine.  Perfect in every way.

Alice Springs - far prettier than I remember from 15 years ago.  Set in front of McDonnell Ranges.  To become even more memorable as the place we have everything fixed!!!
