Day 50 - 53 Cape Leveque

Jasper: I'm going to do three days in one but don't worry it will still be good. The first day is day 51 Broome to Cape Leveque (pronounced: cay-pe lev-eec). Today we went to Beagle Bay on the way to Cape Leveque. Beagle Bay is known for it's name and also it's church that has heaps of mother of pearl shells in it. It was beautiful because it had soooooooooooo many shells. We are staying in safari tents like in the Bungle Bungles.

Kate: Cape Leveque is remote, quiet, unpopulated and so beautiful. The family tent (note singular not plural) has a balcony and is set up on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. Going to sleep and waking to the sound of the ocean is my all time favorite sound. We have done nothing other than go to the beach, snorkel and swim in the warm water and eat very very very well each night at the restaurant (taken over by a Melbourne couple). I no longer need that belt to hold up my pants!!!! The highlight has been the blood red sunsets every night. Sitting on the beach (with a g&t) with the red sun reflecting on the red red cliffs is truly spectacular. You just dont get sick of them! Steve and I realize that part of the magic is actually having the time to sit back and enjoy the time it takes for the sun to slowly drop into the ocean.

Jasper: Day 51 Cape Leveque. Today we did a spear making tour called Bundi's spear making tour. It was the best tour so far because, one Bundi is such a great aboriginal and two because we made spears by doing it the full aborigional way with a metal barb and everything. But the best part was when Bundi took us on to his beach to go spear fishing. I didn't catch any thing but I still had lots of fun. The other funny thing was we used "Kimberley time" which is really no time, so when we got to the place to make the spears we waited about 30 minutes until Bundi came and just before we drove to the beach Bundi disappeared for 15 minutes before went. But it was all over amazing and Awesome and magnificent.
